Abstract

The aim of this article is to compare virtualization platforms. Emphasis is focused on the performance parameters of different hosting and hosted operating systems. Firstly, the key benefits of virtualization are described. Then, selected virtualization platforms and major features of these platforms are introduced. Next, a methodology of testing and an overview of the selected tools for testing are introduced with the emphasis on the set of CPU test, RAM test, HDD test, etc. Finally, the results and comparison of the selected virtualization platforms based on the performed tests are described.
